How to remove windows XP anti virus pop up?

I am having problems with my computer. Windows anti virus keeps popping up and saying that my computer is infected and stuff. On the other hand I have McAfee anti virus program on my computer and it shows that my computer is safe. I want to remover this windows XP anti virus thing that keeps popping up so any help would be great.
