How can i stop annoying anti-virus pop ups whenever i connect to the internet?
I have Anti-Virus software and Anti-Spyware software on my pc, i even use pop-up blockers. I have run numerous checks with both and even though it says my pc is fine i still get the pop-ups. These are the ones that start with one of the small grey windows alert boxes saying that my computer may be at risk and once i click cancel, it opens a webpage that says my computer is at risk and i should download the "latest edition" of some sort of anti-virus and stuff. All things i do not need. It is getting very annoying, and i just want it to stop......... PLEASE HELP...........

- Your machine is infected. Pop-ups are mostly caused by adware, spyware, and other malicious and unwanted software and using pop-up blocker won't help an infected PC. Since no single program can detect and eradicate all spyware, I recommend using multiple anti-spyware programs. Ad-aware and Spybot are among the best (they are free), but feel free to use additional programs if you have a nasty infection. Running these programs in Safe Mode (tap F8 as the computer boots up and choose to boot to safe mode) can be more effective. If you do not have an updated anti-virus program always running, you need to get one. Install only one, but you can get AVG, Avast! or AntiVir for free. I also recommend using FireFox, it's so much better than Internet Explorer. Since you stated you have run anti-spyware programs already, I must inform you to run Hijackthis. It's the most powerful one, but you must be careful not to remove anything without checking with the online community as it will it will find both legitimate and malicious software.
- there might be on it somewere to unsubscribe , click it download , free avg from gripsoft
- check your registry. most likely you have some of the standard malware junk on there.
- turn ur system restore off then run spy ware scan or anti virus scan, is it a red symbol with a white cross? anyway run the scan then reboot hope this helps, i found avg a good one free at downloads.com hope this helps
- You may need to delete a BHO(Browser helper object) Identify with this program and delete it. " HighjackThis " http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/HijackThis/1071179190/1
- install ccleaner (with 2 cs) advanced windows care v2 personal
- spyware for sure.
- linux
- Difficult to say without knowing what you are you using for AV/Firewall and anti-spyware but 1 Get rid of all spyware that is aready on your computer. There are plenty of freebies out there. I find a combination of Webroot's Window Washer, RegCleaner and ScanSpyware does the job. You may need to run them all several times. 2. Get rid of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player as far as you can, without destroying your operating system. Real Player is another one that dumps crap on you hard drive. Use non-Microshit aligned programmes such as Media Player Classic and Mozilla Firefox. If all else fails then you need to back up the data n your hard drive and re-install. Best move I ever made on my computers was to get rid of (or at least suppress! Very difficult to get rid of it entirely without using another operating system) the abomination that is Internet Explorer. Or, as another poster suggests, you could use a different operating system based on Linux.
- Is the scam advertising trying to sell you, one (or more) of these useless products? If it is one of these, then it is likely an infection called Smitfraud that is causing the phony warnings. It is scam advertising trying to swindle you. And a link to a free removal tool is down at the bottom. AdwarePunisher, AdwareSheriff, AlphaCleaner, Antispyware Soldier, AntiVermeans, AntiVermins, AntiVerminser, AntivirusGolden, AVGold, BraveSentry, MalwareWipe, MalwareWiped, MalwaresWipeds, MalwareWipePro, MalwareWiper, PestCapture, PestTrap, PSGuard, quicknavigate.com, Registry Cleaner, Security iGuard, Smitfraud, SpyAxe, SpyCrush, SpyDown, SpyFalcon SpyGuard, SpyHeal, SpyHeals, SpyLocked, SpyMarshal, SpySheriff, SpySoldier, Spyware Vanisher, Spyware Soft Stop, SpywareLocked, SpywareQuake, SpywareKnight, SpywareSheriff, SpywareStrike, Startsearches.net, TitanShield Antispyware, Trust Cleaner, UpdateSearches.com, Virtual Maid, VirusBlast, VirusBurst, Win32.puper, WinAntiSpyPro WinHound There are others. The "black-hats" are adding more rogue programs weekly. If so, then you most likely have a serious Smitfraud infection and a free removal tool called SmitFraudFix with the removal procedure is here: http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php More infomation and another free removal tool called RogueFix can be found here: http://www.internetinspiration.co.uk/roguefix.htm Most "All-Purpose" malware apps such as AVG, Norton, Spybot etc unfortunatly can not remove or even detect this vile pest called Smitfraud. Good luck.
- Install anti-adware or anti-spyware. This is usually common. But if you are annoyed, try getting rid of it through anti-adware or anti-spyware
