- norton
- AVG Free
- Webroot spysweeper is pretty good!
- www.avast.com, I use this on my system and it was suggested by a tech because it also checks p2p and other download types, it doesnt eat memory and is totally free to register, I never get viruses on my system now
- I have used Grisoft - AVG free edition. It works well and isn't too complicated.
- Here is a list of all the major free anti-virus programs: Avast: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Anti-Vir: http://www.free-av.com/ AOL AntiVirusShield: http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp? AVG: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5 BitDefender 8: (on-demand only, no real-time protection) http://www.bitdefender.com/PRODUCT-14-en--BitDefender-8-Free-Edition.html Clamwin: (on-demand only, no real-time protection) http://www.clamwin.com/ Personally, I use the AOL AntiVirusShield. Don't let the name AOL scare you. AntiVirusShield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world. In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, AntiVirusShield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test. http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82 AOL AntiVirusShield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources. Free to anyone, AOL member or not.
- http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4466 worked great for me, gets rid of junk too
- I use AntiVir - free, unobstrusive, auto-updating. http://www.avira.com/en/download/index.html Look for the free one, I believe it is the link with the open red umbrella.
- May I reccommend Avast? Please do download this free-of-cost home users licence software from the first link given below. Also, please register your copy at the regristration page for which I've given you the link [second link] below. You might also want to download and apply the skin of your choice from the many alternatives that you have from the third link given below. I'm certain you're going to love this great free anti-virus! All the best. Cheers
- Try out Avast, Avg, or Avira antivir. They are all free and very good. Always getting awards. Check them out at Filehippo.com, read the stats and decide which one works for you... Link here: http://filehippo.com/software/antivirus/
- There is not a single one, since you will be better covered by means of an installed one and an online one. For example, you can download Avast.com, wich has a real home free license. Norton, fr example is downloaded as a tryout, so it expires pretty fast. For online resource, I would recommend you alternately get to Housecall on www.antivirus.com, or Panda Antivirus Oh! and for trial software that kills much of the things, when you are desperado.. turn to Avira, a more than excellent proiduct. One last note: you also get better equipped if you download a trojan killer and a firewall, believe me.... you will save a lot on aspirin and tears.
- Most of the ones mentioned here are pretty good for free versions, but if you really want your computer protected, you should bite the bullet and spend a little bit of money. NOD32 is the best Anti-Virus program on the market. It is consistently rated number 1 by most tech sites. You can get it for $39.00 a year, but I have seen it for less as they do run specials now and then. I also recommend Webroot Spy-ware Sweeper. You can get it for $29.00 and sometimes as low as $19.95. I am a PC tech and I have tried all of them on the market, both free and retail, and these two are the best. But if you can't afford the $70.00 or so then try some of the free ones already mentioned. Install only one Anti-Virus program as more then one on your PC can cause problems.
- get it fro here--- http://computerhelp-downloads.blogspot.com
- Its AVG. Get it from http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg71free_405a791.exe The git who said Norton probably does not count 40$ as money. There are other free antivirus which are also equally good, but AVG is the most popular: 1.Avast: http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe 2. Avira: http://www.free-av.com/down/windows/antivir_workstation_win7u_en_h.exe 3. Clamwin: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/clamwin/clamwin-0.88.4-setup.exe?use_mirror=mesh 4. BitDefender: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/BitDefender-Free-Edition.shtml
