anti virus?

I like to download music. si inspite of updating my anti-virus regularly, I still get viruses. what can one do for it? any suggestions? thanx in advance! are these better than the ones installed and updated?

  2. I know I am going to sound like a broken record. Stop downloading illegal music. Heck, I do it but I know it is my fault when a virus gets in. You want to avoid viruses, do not go to shady sites and only download valid software. Sorry. * There is no guarantee that virus definitions are ahead of the virus writers, in fact, they are usually a step behind.
  3. If when you download something and a warning about a virus pops up it's because the AV has done it's job: to protect you from viruses in the internet. On the other hand if the message appears only later (during a scan or if you try to read the file) your AV doesn't have real time protection or simply stinks. In both cases replace the existing AV with http://www.avast.com/ - best freeware.
