How do i setup wireless internet on my laptop with windows xp ?

I got a dell with windows vista but now i installed xp . So How do i setup wireless internet on my laptop with windows xp ? i have a build in card and i dont know where to see the wireless signal (im standing next to my wireless router)

1. can't remember, as I use Macs now, but always set it up with a cable first, to make sure everything's working fine... often it'll auto-configure itself... then progress to a wireless connection
2. Find out if you have a wireless card already installed on the computer. If you do then just take the laptop to any place that has a wifi hotspot and turn on the computer and open Explorer and it will find the wifi card and ask if you want to connect to the net. If you dont have a card you can get the adapter from Netgear and plug in into the slot on the side and it will pick up the wifi signal from there.
