  1. You need to enter your BIOS and set your computer to boot from CD. Insert your XP installation disk, and restart. You'll get a message saying: 'Press any key to boot from CD...' Press a key, and follow the onscreen prompts. WARNING: Part of the installation involved formatting your hard drive, so ensure you backup important data before you start.
  2. What are you trying to install? You can install a new copy on top of th eold. It will just copy the windows files or do you want to wipe the disk and start over? Either way boot with the XP disk follow the bouncing ball. The program will ask what you want to do. It should be on teh second screen during th einstall asking if you want to format the disk and create a new partition. delete the partion and make a new one that is one bite smaller that the original. Format the drive and install the program. If you want to wipr the drive to remove all traces of stuff you had on it you will need to buy a wipe disk program. Look on TUCows site for the freeware or shareware versions.
