Is it possible to have 2 versions of windows xp on my computer? How do I get rid of one to free disk space?

I had to re-install windows xp on my computer. I had plenty of disk space before now I have like 20MB. Is it possible that I have 2 versions of windows xp on my computer. If so, how do I get rid of the one that I don't need so I can have my disk space restored?

  1. you probably have multiple partitions. i would recommend a program like partition magic. i think they may have a free version. it not then go to 'my computer' and see if there is more than one hard drive icon. if so, then you probably installed xp on another partition. im going to take a wild guess and assume you have a compaq. they have a recovery partition. you more than likely installed it on the recovery partition. if so, then just run the restore program and have it set your computer back to the factory default conditions.
