How to make it so that windows XP instead of grouping different files shows them induvidually?

I'm running windows XP and it's always grouping programs eg "3 Microsoft Office files." and all in the same taskbar thingo and i have to click on it and chose which one I want. I'd much rather have them all along the bottom of the screen in separate boxes. Help?

  1. There is only one way to solve your issue, and it means having less viewable screen when the task bar is showing. Hold your mouse cursor in the middle of the task bar, but not on any button, and slowly move it upward. As you pass over the edge of the task bar, the cursor will change to a double ended arrow at one spot. Left click and hold the left button. Drag the edge of the task bar upward, until it is twice as high as before. Let go of the mouse button, and the task bar should stay that size. ( If the cursor does not change to the double ended arrow - then right click on the open area of the task bar, and select properties. un-check the box the says "Lock the taskbar". Now try the arrow again.) You now have two rows for the buttons that represent your active programs, instead of just one. If you run out of space again, and windows starts stacking your programs into lists, you can repeat this process to add a third row. You may want to make sure the task bar is set to hide itself when not in use, or you will have a smaller working window, because of the larger task bar size. To make the task bar automatically hide, if it does not right now, you need to right click on an open area of the task bar. Select properties from the menu and then select the Task bar tab. Under Taskbar appearance sections - check the boxes for "Auto-Hide the taskbar". and "Keep taskbar on top of other windows." Make sure the box is UN-checked for "Group similar taskbar buttons." This should now allow you to see all your buttons at once.
  2. 1.right click the task-bar. 2. click on properties 3.group similar taskbar buttons will be selected, you must unselect it 4.click okay/apply 5. problem solved?
