  1. Right click on the start menu, choose the tab that says "Start menu" and then choose the button that says "Customize". If you go to advanced, you can choose how they look (My Documents as a folder or list). To remove programs that are on the left hand side, right click over the icon and say remove from list. if you wish for the program to be there permanently (on the top of the bar on the left side) either drag it up from it's place in the menu (underneath the bar) or you can drag it form the "All Programs" Section.
  2. Left click START. The left side is divided into two sections. The bottom section lists the last six programs that were used. The top portion is permanent. To add something to the list, open ALL PROGRAMS and right click the one you want.Choose "pin to start menu." To remove, right click the item and choose "remove from list."
  3. If you mean add programs to the list and remove them then you simply point ur cursor over the start button and right click and when the little menu comes up go to properties, then you click on the customize button (there will be two customize buttons, one ontop of the other, depending on wether you have start menu selected or classic menu selected determins wich customize button you will be able to click ) it will open a new menu that has two tabs on the top ( General) and (advanced) you will need to select the advanced button and right in the middle of the page is a list of things on or off the start menu. you will see control panel as your first item and it will have 3 options under it (display as a link-click this one if you want and icon to appear on your start menu) the 2nd is (display as a menu-wich puts an icon on your start menu but instead of clicking on it and it opening. this will put the icon with an arrow on the right and when you pause over it or click on it, instead of a window opening and displaying the content of the file, it will open up a side menu and let you select whatever file you want that is in that icon) and last (dont display this item-basicaly doesnt show up on the start menu.) and as you scroll down there will be a lil square box with the name of a file beside of it . you just simply check the box if you want it displayed on the start menu or uncheck it if you dont want it displayed. The reason theese are just file names with a little square beside of it is because it isnt part of the main start menu (he panel of icons on the top right of the start menu, they are the programms that are at the bottom right) and this just lets you add or remove things that are windows components like my documents (etc...) but if you want to add personal programms to the start menu that you have downloaded then open up the start menu and go to all programms and find the one you want to put on the Main start menu. ( it will place them in the left pannel of the start menu ) and right click on the file or program and it will open a small menu that should have the option that says "Pin to start menu" and thats how you do it from the all programs list. and if you cant find the file your looking for in all programs then just go to the programs icon on the desktop (or where ever you put the icon at) and put your cursor over the icon and click on it but instead of clicking it and letting go, click and hold the left button on the mouse and while holding it move your mouse so that it drags the icon down to the start button and lay it right on the start button and it will add it, also to remove programms you put on the start menu just right click on the program you dont want to be displayed on the start menu and it will open a little menu and it will have the option to remove from this list" click on that and there you go its gone. but i hope this helped you in some way good luck
