How do i become a computer technician?

I need a change of career. My hobby for years has been computers, and am quite technically minded. I'd like a job as a computer technician/engineer but how would i go about it? I've already done a degree (non-computer related) so i can't get funding to go back to Uni and do another degree. Any ideas, and also are the job prospects good for this type of work? Thanks.

1. Phone a careers advisor, they should be able to help on both questions, enquire at your local college.
2. you can always look into ITT Tech....any technology school will do. best of luck!
3. College is the key . . . and then continual training and course work . . . been in the field since the 80's and it's a never ending education because of the never ending technological advances . . .most of the newbe's that I work with have BA in computer science but no experience . .
