How to plug my computer to the interenet?

i have my own personal computer upstairs, but we have a computer downstairs. The computer downstairs has an internet connection and a modem. how would i get mine plugged up to the internet? if i get a wireless router will the downstairs computer need an adaptor?

1. If it is a broadband connection you can connect a router to the line and connect multiple machines to it. If not you will require a second phone line.
2. get a wireless router and a wirless network adapter for your computer upstairs or wherever you are
3. i recommend using a wireless connection. connect a wireless modem to your broadband modem. if your computer upstairs doesn't have a built in wireless modem than you will need a another wireless modem to connect to your computer upstairs. so i say you need the following: 2 wireless modem connect one to your broadband and your computer downstairs and connect the second to your computer upstairs good luck
