After a computer glitch all my latest downloads and installments disappeared. How do i retrieve them?

My computer just shutdown one day and when it finally finish reloading all the programs were the back to the way i was when i first got my computer 3 years ago. All the downloads, installments, and upgrades are gone. Can anyone tell me how to get them back.

1. If you have restored back to a point where you didn't have all the updates and programs that you wanted, your pretty much out of luck. You can re-download updates for Windows by going to start, then all programs, and click Windows Update. By re-installing these updates your operating system will be much more secure and stable. However, any documents, programs or recent changes made to the computer are gone. Just a bit of advice, always back up your data in case of a hardware problem. You never know when your computer is going to crash.
2. while i can't tell you how to do it, there is a way to take the computer back in time, say a week ago. we were able to do it to our computer after it acted up. ask around about this. i just thought of a place you might go to in order to get that info. go to komando.com she writes a daily syndicated column about computers, and how to solve just about any kind of problem Anyone can have. it's a great web site. good luck to ya
3. wel,follow the steps here. 1)start your computer 2)open SYSTEM RESTORE start-->all programs-->accessories-->system tools-->system restore 3)you wil get a window.click next 4)you wil hav a calender..choose a date that was before your system gave u this problem. 5).click next nd system wil restart.. if this dosnt help,then it means that you have restored your system to a long back date... in such a case you can try using software applications like UNDELETE..use the software which is an open source free application,.this may help you restore your files... in the worst case scenario all you can do is to install everything again..hmmm..that's a bad option though...
