what is the largest size monitor for a laptop?

I want to get a laptop with the largest monitor available. I am not interested in a 14" monitor and the like. What is the largest size monitor you know of for a laptop, thanks. And ps: what does it mean when people talk about connecting their laptop to their TV? What is that all about? What happens? Thanks.
