Can i get a copy of windows vista from my computer that came with windows vista?

I bought a compaq laptop that came with windows vista home basic. It didnt come with the vista cd. Is there a way for me to get windows vista from my computer somehow so that i can have it just in case i ever need to reinstall it? I have the activation number and everything but not the vista cd.

1. contact compaq and have them send you a recovery cd
2. Unfortunately not. The only real thing you could do is create an image using Norton Ghost or something like that. You could try calling Compaq and getting the cd
3. you can buy a Vista CD from Microsoft. About 5 Dollar i think.
