What are the advantages of windows vista?

I can read all day what windows vista does, but i have no idea what its like from a persons point of view. What advantages does it have over xp?

1. i don't think vista has any advantages over xp, except it looks different. Vista is great if you want the newest stuff...
2. so far none....it looks pretty like a Sesame street toy.

The difference that Windows Vista has over XP is: Windows DVD Maker Windows Movie Maker (HD and Media center support) Windows Vista Media Center Windows Calendar Windows Sidebar Windows Contacts Windows Internet Explorer Windows Mail (Formally Microsoft Outlook Express) Windows Aero Experience Premium Games (Chess Titans..etc) And that's pretty much it. The reason I have it is because of the premium games.
4. One of the nicest features in Vista has is a new search tool. You click the start menu (or hit the windows key), and type in anything you are searching for and it pops up. For example, if you were looking for an old document or photo you had filed away somewhere, just type in the name and it will pop up. No need to search through your folders/files. This is really handy for opening up programs without digging through menus to find them. Note: This has been available in Mac OS X for some time :) The other great new feature is the ability to flip through open windows easily. If you have 6 windows open for different folders and 3 different web browser windows open, you can easily cycle through them to find the one you want. It's WAY easier than the old alt-tab method. Note: this has ALSO been in Mac OS X for some time. Hope these help. There are lots of other little features that aren't worth mentioning, but those are my 2 favorites.
5. it just looks cool and it has the thing mac came out with years ago with the 3d windows and even then you need enough ram and a fast processor to make it work. you might want to wait if u want to upgrade about a year to year and a half because there isnt all that much software compatible with vista yet.
6. if you are the government, the advantage is that you can snoop in peoples computers. don't get it.
7. Windows Vista will take care of any spare processing cycles your CPU and video card might have, to maximize the work performed by your computer while accomplishing nothing.
8. NONE WINDOWS VISTA SUCKS AT EVERYTHING!!!! I take that back, the only good thing is that it looks nice. as for the vista games.....there are better ones out there for xp. I would only get it IF......YOU WANT TO PLAY HALO2 BUT THAT IS THE ONLY REASON!!!! vista to me is a compete failure, after delays, still a failure, compatibility is terrible, resource waster, and ...I hate macs, but look at a mac, vista nice looking stuff is almost completely copied off of a mac (take the mac symbol and put it on a window, pretty close to me)
9. Vista is very pretty. If you want a pretty OS, and are willing to sacrifice everything else, Vista is the way to go.
