- I just inserted the bootable windows XP and format the hard drive so that I can install the Windows XP. Get a bootable Win XP.
- Get a "local" friend to come over and help. Way too much to type out for me ----- +++Spock+++
- Can I say something really quick...hold on...be patient and have an open mind. Let me tell you what happened when I got vista. I used to have xp but I wanted to buy a new computer so I bought an hp laptop with vista with 2 gigs of memory. When I got vista it seemed slow to me...compared to xp. I was going to do the same thing you did but then I went online and typed in SPEED UP VISTA and I found that there are a lot of things that load when you run vista that you can disable. When I did that vista roared to life. It wasn't vista it was all the other crud hp put on my system. Do you remember what they did to windows 95? They don't support it anymore. Now they don't support windows 98 and soon they wont support xp. I would add more memory if you have less than 2 gigs and also go to the site below an ddownload TUNE UP UTILITIES for free it helps make vista way faster than xp
- I wish I knew. Vista sucks and blows simultaneously.
- If you have enough disk space, install XP. That'll take up about 600 MB. Once that is done, use the VISTA installation disk/CD and chose to Uninstall it. It will look for another operating system; otherwise, it denies the action. The method I use is use a scrubber and clean out the disk drive and start fresh. Make sure you backup everything else because once scrubbed, it's gone.
