Am having a little problem with my windows vista start menu?

Am having a little problem with my windows vista start menu. Without clicking on the start menu it keeps blinking by itself. Does anyone happen to know a solution for it. Apparently, the problem started from installing a Unknown software.

1. I would encourage, first a re-boot (that should always be your starting point) and then if nothing has changed you can do a system restore. It is easy to do and can help you with these kinds of problems.
2. If you have a recovery CD,just start it.You ll lose your data and files,but I m sure the system should be improved.
